ZR Bashing Bead Lysis Tubes (2 mm) by Zymo Research (S6003-50) are 2 ml impact-resistant screw-cap tubes pre-loaded with 2 mm zirconium oxide beads for mechanical lysis of tough samples including soil, stool, biofilms, and gram-positive bacteria. Supplied in a 50-pack for microbiome and metagenomics workflows, these tubes are compatible with standard bead homogenizers and integrate directly into Zymo Research DNA/RNA extraction kits.

ZR BashingBead Lysis/Filtration Tubes

S6010 by Zymo Research is the ZR BashingBead Lysis/Filtration Tube with 0.5 mm beads, a 25-pack of 50 mL impact-resistant polypropylene tubes that combine bead-beating lysis and silica-based nucleic acid capture in a single vessel. The integrated silica filtration matrix binds 5&ndash;10 &micro;g of nucleic acid; minimum elution volume is &ge;6 &micro;l. Compatible bead beaters include the Bullet Blender (9 tubes per run), FastPrep-24 (40-second processing), and Geno/Grinder 2010 (12 tubes per run).
The 0.5 mm beads are optimized for disruption of bacteria, fungi, and yeast. For tissue homogenization, use the S6011 (2.0 mm beads). No organic denaturants or proteinases are required.
