In cryogeny, materials are used, moved, kept, and even created at extremely low temperatures. Due to extreme cooling, gases can change into liquids or solids, resulting in interesting chemical reactions when materials are at these high temperatures. Temperatures of -160°C or lower are referred to as cryogenics. This is the point at which gases start to condense into liquids. The temperature needed to liquefy a gas differs from one gas to another.
Suppose you are searching for the best cryogenic vials and tubes for your lab. In that case, MBP Inc. offers some of the most significant molecular biology supplies, like the best cryogenic vials, sealing films, and Conductive Filter Tips for Hamilton. By visiting our website, you can pick the ideal cryogenic storage vials for your lab. Here in this blog, we will explain how the low cryogenic temperature is achieved, cryogenic cooling benefits, and the characteristic of cryogenic tubes and vials.
What Techniques Are Used To Reach These Low Cryogenic Temperatures?
It depends on two primary components to reach low temperatures of -160°C. One is the type of gas used and the material that needs to be cooled are factors. Techniques utilized to achieve cryogenic temperatures include Evaporative cooling, conduction, fast expansion cooling, and adiabatic demagnetization.
Nitrogen gas can be liquified, another efficient cooling technique because of its inert properties, affordability, availability, excessively low boiling point, and excellent refrigeration capacity at both atmospheric and higher pressures. Due to its unique thermal characteristics, liquid nitrogen quickly cools to low temperatures. In addition to cooling food, it is frequently utilized for biological and electronic components. Cells kept in liquid nitrogen for up to 13 years didn't even experience a substantial decrease in cell viability.
Advantages of Cryogenic Cooling
Cryogenic cooling is the best method to store a substance or item in the best possible condition. The cooling process is tightly controlled by utilizing this quick and practical approach of combining cryogenics with pharmaceutical or biological material. Throughout this procedure, there is a minimum amount of moisture loss and crystal formation. Cryogenics produces the best results since it saves time and money and produces results of the highest quality.
Are Cryogenic Tubes Real?
In the biomedical and research industries, it's crucial to keep living cells and organisms with the highest level of viability, confirming that no changes to occur of proteins and nucleic acids occur.
Samples are preserved using cryogenic storage and kept in liquid nitrogen in the lab. For this, specialized lab equipment is used, which can withstand extremely low temperatures without affecting the quality of the samples. And to achieve this, cryogenic tubes and vials are created. They are made to accommodate the liquid nitrogen's temperature requirements.
What Are the Features of Cryogenic Vials and Tubes?
There are several similarities between vials and cryogenic tubes. They are both made of non-mutagenic and non-cytotoxic plastic resins and are free of pyrogens. To guarantee the tops remain on during variations in air pressure and temperature, they both contain caps that screw on and off. Both of them come with internal or external thread options. Because the cap covers the tube from the outside, external threads help keep the sample sterile.
Vials are sized for specific applications, whereas cryogenic tubes have round or skirted bottoms. Labels are attached to cryogenic storage tubes to recognize them. Typically, non-sterile or uncapped versions of vials and tubes are offered for sale individually or in bulk. Cryogenic vials can be autoclaved after use to reduce the chance of cross-contamination. The typical shelf life of cryogenic vials is five years from the date of sterilization.
