Rainin LTS Filter Tips: Everything You Need to Know

LTS stands for Lite Touch Tip Ejection Pipetting System. It is the most comfortable pipette that prevents fatigue. It ensures the most precise and accurate readings with no room for error. The patented LTS system of Rainin has exceptionally reduced increasing or decreasing high-tip ejection forces. This system has also contributed towards minimizing the risk of laboratory RSI.

Pipette tips for Rainin offer a cylindrical shaft design where the tip design significantly eliminates tip ejection forces. Due to the decreased forces, it is more feasible for the technician. They can go on working for hours without experiencing any fatigue. These tips contain a reliable seal, and the seal remains consistent without exhibiting any excessive forces.

It has been observed that the LTS can reduce tip ejection forces by a significant margin of 85%. With a conventional conical tip or shaft design, there is a massive amount of ejection force. It can go up to as high as 10kg, and the usual average is 4kg. This creates a problem for the technician and is not appreciated. On the contrary, with LTS, the tip ejection forces are as minimum as 0.6kg.

Feature of Consistent Seal Each Time

As mentioned before, there are no excessive forces involved in LTS. Hence, the cylindrical shaft and tip design can offer a reliable and consistent seal. These tips are thin-walled, incorporating a minimal yet well-defined seal area with a positive stop. The stop allows the technician to know when the seal is made. Hence, there is no requirement of jamming or pounding the shaft on the tip.

Solving Ordinary Multichannel Issues

These tips enable the user to solve various common multichannel problems, such as:

  • Sample loading consistently
  • A reliable seal with no chances of leakage without the need for hand tightening
  • Does not involve breakage, maintenance, sample contamination, or any other problems
  • The cost is as much as standard filter tips. Rainin LTS offers remarkable advantages that most scientists are considering switching to reap the benefits.

Protection Against Cross-Contamination

Contrary to other filter types containing additives that inhibit enzyme reactions, the Rainin filter tips are produced by pure and virgin sintered polyethylene. The hydrophobic polyethylene particles can hinder the aspiration of aerosols and liquids in the pipette body. These filters are also machine-loaded, ensuring that the tips do not come in human contact while manufacturing or packaging, further minimizing the chances of contamination.

They carry a certification that renders them free of DNase, RNase, DNA, and pyrogen contamination. Furthermore, these filter tips are pre-sterilized via radiation post packaging as an additional preventive measure for biological samples.

A filter is used in aerosol-resistant tips manufactured through sintered polyethylene. This allows the processing of a torturous path aerosol barrier. Rainin filters contain an average pore size of 40 microns. This size is regarded as less restrictive and does not increase the resistance or affect the accuracy of pipetting.

Rainin Certified & High Accuracy

If used with Rainin pipettes in compliance with the instruction manual, the filtered pipette tips come with a total guarantee to display accurate and precise measurements. These tips have known to exceed the least standards for:

  • Flash absence
  • No chances of contamination
  • Regularity and smoothness of the surface
  • Neat dimensions and geometry finish
  • Pipetting accuracy with no deviations

These tips taper to form a neat orifice diameter. The slender design combined with thin and flexible walls provides a supple tip to assist in sample touch-off. The thin wall surrounding the orifice and orifice aperture can provide minimum surface area for a residual sample to stick to while the sample is dispensed. These tips also discharge altogether to provide exceptional pipetting accuracy.

The tips are made out of a special resin that can reduce sample retention within the tip. This allows the technician to minimize sample loss while researching for protein. The sustainable design is based on virgin raisins. They fit and eject with comparatively lesser force than conventional tips. The super-clear resin and ultra-fine points are excellent for monitoring the sample, which does not contain any endotoxins or trace metals. It is also free of protease and nuclease while tested for ATP.
