Rimmed vs. Rimless Rimless test tubes (fire-polished ends) allow easier insertion of rubber or silicone stoppers and are preferred for plugging with cotton wool for microbial culture. The 113142A by Globe Scientific is a translucent gray LDPE snap cap for 12 mm glass culture tubes and 13 mm evacuated blood-drawing tubes — precision-molded to maintain a liquid-tight seal during centrifugation, agitation, and refrigerated storage. Single thumb tab enables one-handed removal. Packed 1,000 per bag; available in seven translucent colors (Gray, Blue, Clear, Green, Lavender, Red, Yellow) for color-coded sample tracking.
