T0107 Primary Rat (Fischer) Hepatocytes, Suspension, are hepatocytes isolated from Fischer 344 (F344) inbred rat liver tissue and supplied in a high-density suspension format at 5×10⁶ cells/1.0 ml — ten times the standard hepatocyte vial density — for immediate use in metabolic incubation-based assays, supplied by Applied Biological Materials (ABM) and available through MBP (Molecular Biology Products Inc.). Fischer 344 is a widely used inbred rat strain in carcinogenesis research and regulatory toxicology, with a well-characterized hepatic metabolic profile. The suspension format is ideal for intrinsic clearance (CL_int) determination, metabolic stability screening, and reactive metabolite trapping, and the high cell density vial format enables scaled incubation experiments. Cell density should not exceed 1×10⁶ cells/ml. Each vial contains 5×10⁶ cells/1.0 ml, cryopreserved.

Application Notes

T0107 Primary Rat (Fischer) Hepatocytes are a suspension preparation. PriCoat™ T25 Flasks (G299) are recommended. The recommended growth medium is PriGrow X Series Medium (TM0107) supplemented with 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin Solution (G255), at 37°C in 5% CO₂. Do not allow cell density to exceed 1×10⁶ cells/ml. Note: this vial contains 5×10⁶ cells/1.0 ml — ten times the standard density — plan dilution accordingly before use. For cryopreservation, use serum-free CryoGuard™ Freezing Media (TM078).
