Biologix FoilSeal Chemically Resistant is a 2.0 mil aluminum foil plate seal with a specially formulated pressure-sensitive adhesive, available in a non-sterile, 100-sheet pack (61-0080) and a sterile, 50-sheet pack (61-0081). The FoilSeal is certified DNase-free and RNase-free and rated from −80 °C to +120 °C, covering the full range from ultra-low temperature storage through PCR thermocycling. Its universal fit accommodates both flat-top and raised-rim plate formats, and its rounded corners prevent plate overhang on robotic liquid-handling systems.

Applications

Biologix FoilSeal is used for sealing 96-well and 384-well plates in PCR and qPCR thermocycling, long-term sample storage in ultra-low temperature (−80 °C) freezers, light-sensitive assay protection, and robotic liquid-handling workflows where a rigid, pierceable seal is required. The aluminum foil construction provides excellent chemical resistance including to DMSO, making it appropriate for compound storage plates in drug discovery. The conformable foil allows visual seal verification by inspection, and the seal is pierceable with standard pipette tips for direct sample recovery without full removal. The single end-tab with perforations supports clean, one-handed removal.
