PETG Bottle Accessories

What are PETG Bottles with Accessories?

PETG bottles with accessories are sterile, closed-system liquid storage and transfer assemblies combining a square PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) media bottle with a bi-directional transfer cap pre-fitted with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) tubing and a terminal connector — Luer lock (male or female) or CPC (clamped pressure connector). The closed system allows aseptic media, serum, buffer, or pharmaceutical intermediate transfer between containers without open-pour steps, substantially reducing contamination risk and compliance burden in cGMP-regulated and BSL-2 laboratory environments. Choose PETG bottle assemblies for any liquid transfer workflow requiring an aseptic closed system — cGMP media dispensing, FBS aliquoting under sterile barrier, viral vector transfer, or pharmaceutical intermediate handling where open-pour steps are prohibited by SOP or regulatory requirement.

How to Choose PETG Bottle Assemblies

Connector Type: Luer Lock vs. CPC Female Luer lock connectors (catalog 352503, 352506 series) mate with male Luer tips on syringe filters, tubing sets, and sterile sampling devices — the most common connector for inline sterile sampling and small-volume aseptic transfer. Male Luer lock connectors fit female Luer receptacles on peristaltic pump tubing and fluid path assemblies. CPC (clamped pressure connector, also called quick-connect) connectors provide a tool-free, dry-disconnect coupling between two fluid lines without dripping — used in bioreactor harvest lines, media feed assemblies, and bioprocess fluid path management. Tubing Size: 1/8" vs. 1/4" I.D. NEST assemblies are available with 60 cm TPE tubing in 1/8" I.D. × 1/4" O.D. (for low-flow, small-volume transfer with syringe or peristaltic pump at low speed) or 1/4" I.D. × 3/8" O.D. (for higher-flow transfer with standard peristaltic pumps). The 3/8" O.D. tubing is the standard for most bioprocess peristaltic pumps. Confirm pump head bore size against tubing O.D. before ordering. Bi-Directional vs. Standard Cap The bi-directional transfer cap in NEST PETG assemblies has a dual-port design: one port connects to the TPE transfer tubing (outflow or inflow path), and the cap as a whole seals the bottle neck during the non-transfer state. This design allows the bottle to function both as a source vessel (liquid out via tubing) and a receiver vessel (liquid in via tubing) without changing the cap assembly. Confirm whether your process requires one-way or two-way transfer before selecting the assembly format. Volume Options NEST PETG bottle assemblies are available in 250 mL, 500 mL, and 1,000 mL volumes, matching standard media, sera, and buffer kit sizes. The 250 mL assembly is standard for small-volume cGMP process sampling; 500 mL and 1,000 mL assemblies suit bulk media dispense and FBS aliquoting at scale. Standard Bottle vs. Assembly For applications that do not require tubing or connectors — routine cold storage of media, FBS thaw, and buffer archiving — standard NEST PETG square bottles with HDPE screw caps (catalog 352xxx without accessories) are available at a lower cost. The accessory assembly format is only necessary when closed-system transfer between containers is required.

Specifications Context

NEST Scientific PETG bottle assemblies are manufactured under a cGMP quality system conforming to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820 (QSR). All components are USP Class VI; the complete assembly is gamma irradiated in the USA to SAL 10⁻⁶ and provided in double-bagged sterile packaging for cleanroom entry. Each lot is tested and certified free of endotoxins, pyrogens, DNase, RNase, and particulates. PETG material: USP Class VI, temperature range −80 °C to +60 °C; TPE tubing: USP Class VI, biocompatible, platinum-cured equivalent. The bi-directional cap body is polycarbonate (PC); the tubing and connector are TPE and polypropylene (PP) or nylon, all USP Class VI. As of 2026, NEST PETG bottle assemblies are used in cGMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing, viral vector production (lentivirus, AAV), FBS aliquoting under sterile barrier, and academic cGMP pilot programs.
