 Matching BioFactory Scale to Production Stage The 1-layer BioFactory (&asymp;636 cm&sup2;) is equivalent in surface area to approximately 8&ndash;9 standard T75 flasks &mdash; used for proof-of-concept scale-up studies transitioning from T-flask monolayer culture. The 2-layer BioFactory (&asymp;1,272 cm&sup2;) is the standard for pilot-scale viral antigen production and early-phase process development. The 5-layer (&asymp;3,180 cm&sup2;) and 10-layer (&asymp;6,360 cm&sup2;) formats suit mid-scale production runs for research-grade vaccine lots, transfection-derived protein, and pre-clinical viral vector batches.
