In recent years, there has been tremendous research and innovation in microbiology. So many microorganisms have been isolated, and many different modes of treatment developed to treat and cure patients.
So many diseases that used to be considered deadly can now be treated with antibiotics or other medicines in a much simpler and easier way.
Did you know bacteria took the lives of many renowned presidents and fearless leaders? Let us take a look at some of their stories.
4 Fearless Leaders That Lost In The Battle Against Bacteria
-
George Washington
George Washington developed acute bacterial Epiglottitis, probably caused by Streptococcus Pneumoniae or Staphylococcus Aureus.
Washington also underwent the procedure of bloodletting. Physicians tried to reduce inflammation and constrict the blood vessels of his throat through removing blood. This was done in order to relieve the epiglottitis. However, it did not work and Washington succumbed to his death on 14 December, 1799.
Even though Epiglottitis is still a pretty harmful symptom of bacteria, prompt diagnosis and treatment can help the patient recover with much ease. And all this has become possible through intensive research on the analysis of the particular organism done by microbiologists and lab workers.
Lab workers need lab equipment to get their work done. And nothing can be done without the proper instruments. So, if you are a microbiologist and need T225 flasks or any other lab apparatus for precise and exact experiments, Molecular Biology Products has everything you want!

Thomas Jefferson
Do you know the organism that claimed this President’s life? It was E.Coli. Can you believe it? Anyone who has worked in a lab knows that there are a dozen cases of E.Coli isolated through cultures almost every other day.
However, back in the time this proved to be quite fatal for Thomas Jefferson. He got this infection through an unsterile medical technique that spread to his kidneys, ultimately taking his life.

James K. Polk
James K. Polk succumbed to Cholera on 15 June, 1849 in less than 4 months after leaving office.
Even though Cholera is not as fatal nowadays, it used to be a pretty terrible ordeal at the time. Bouts of vomiting and diarrhea accompanied it, completely dehydrating the body of its natural fluid. Honestly, it was a pretty painful way to die.
Fortunately for us, lots of lab techniques are there to isolate organisms, analyse their structure and DNA, and find how they cause symptoms. A variety of lab apparatus to support these experiments is also available. Whether you are in search of PCR tubes with flat caps or require sealing films to increase the accuracy of your experiments with these organisms, Molecular Biology Products has all this and more to serve your needs.

Zachary Taylor
Did you know what happened to this President? Gastroenteritis caused by Campylobacter Jejuni. Gastroenteritis is one of the most common diseases in the modern world and can be easily treated in a matter of two to three days. If not accompanied by fever, patients with gastroenteritis are not even prescribed antibiotics in most cases.
Unfortunately for Zachary Taylor, he lived in an era way before science has gone this far. He died on 9 July, 1850. Many people believed he had been poisoned, however no such evidence was found and to this day, the bacteria is blamed for his death.
