 TC-treated (tissue culture&ndash;treated) cell culture plates are sterile, single-use multi-well polystyrene plates whose well surfaces have been modified by vacuum plasma treatment to introduce negatively charged oxygen-containing groups (carboxyl, carbonyl, hydroxyl), reducing the water contact angle from ~75&ndash;90&deg; (untreated PS) to below 10&deg; (hydrophilic).
