The Maxwell's Wheel by United Scientific is a classic all-metal demonstration of the conservation of mechanical energy. Wound up on its supporting cords and released, the wheel converts potential energy to rotational kinetic energy as it falls and back again as it climbs, until friction dissipates the energy.
