The United Scientific® Inertia Balance by United Scientific is a physics demonstration apparatus that measures mass from oscillation period instead of weight. Two platforms on flexible steel arms oscillate more slowly as mass is added, letting students calculate an unknown mass from known ones without relying on gravity. The 13″ x 5″ platform holds masses in molded holes. Used in high school and introductory college physics teaching labs.
