T flasks are used for the proper maintenance of cell cultures; the purpose of the flask is to keep the valuable cells protected and avoid contamination. T flask comes in various sizes and cell holding capacities. These flasks are designed to keep insect, mammalian cells and microbial growth and breeding.
T flask has a narrow neck, with makes it difficult for other substances to get mixed, and it works well against contamination. The cap innovation has enhanced the protection of cells. There are various sizes available, and the largest one is the T 225 Flask, which has the highest cell at confluency.Ways T Flask Has Improved The Handling Of Cells
T flask has been improved over the years to provide better protection with the help of a simple handling process. Following are how T flask has become better;
Better Protection For The Substance
The filter cap of the T flask has a pressure-fit volume pad filter. It has pores of different sizes to make it easier for standard membranes to keep back contaminants such as fungi, mycoplasma and viruses.
Contamination can happen due to each airborne germ which can pass a filter. Even a small germ can have a huge impact on the cell. A slight contamination can cause inaccurate final results.
As small the particle can be, the more will be absorbed by the filter material. T Flask is used so that such an occurrence may not happen.
Security For The User
T Flasks are preferred for maintaining or cultivating hazardous substances such as cells infected by a virus. T flask has screw caps which can provide security for the user. The T flask is a great instrument to avoid spillage in the laboratory.
The best thing about T Flask is that it can have a screw cap that offers sufficient gas transfer while protecting against contamination. While incubation, the gases need to be exchanged with get difficult with a non-filter cap.
T flask has plug-seal caps that offer an additional click mechanism that can let the lab assistant know that the cap is in an optimal position and ready to put in incubation. T Flask has a filter cap that allows the gas to transfer properly. Through a T Flask, air can circulate properly while the particles retain.
Access To A Better Growth Area
The modern T Flask has better and optimal space for handling the liquid. The T flask allows the attendant to have room for handling the liquid properly and gives an accessible place for the cells to grow. It also keeps the cell monolayer protected from getting scratched by the pipette.
T flask is optimal for handling all types of liquids during the necessary procedure. To avoid spreading any spores of bacteria, fungi or yeast and infecting any other cell cultures, flasks or labs, having a T flask is extremely important in the lab. If the liquid mixes up with outer bacteria, the impact would be on the test result. The result will not be as correct.
Where Is T Flask Used?
T flask has a narrow neck and slanted sides. The flask makes it easier to mix the content by swirling and avoiding any spillage. The flask is used in chemistry labs for the condensation process. It also supported the filter funnels because of its narrow necks, reducing solvent loss.
T Flasks are also used in microbiology. The use of a T Flask prepares the microbial cultures. It is used for putting cells in incubation and letting the gas exchange.
To Wrap It Up
T Flask is getting modernized to give the liquid better protection and prevent germs from getting mixed. T Flask provides a great space for the better growth of cells and handling liquids during the procedure. It provides security to the user and the inner substances too.
