The United Scientific® Hand Rule Demonstrator is a classroom apparatus that shows how a current-carrying coil moves in the field of a horseshoe magnet. It runs on 3 to 6 V DC, has a switch for a temporary coil current, and the magnet can be removed to reverse the poles. Physics teachers use it to teach the hand rules and the motor and generator effects.
