United Scientific® Economy Calorimeter by United Scientific is a food calorimeter kit for measuring the energy released when snack foods are burned. A food sample on a cork-and-pin holder burns inside a metal chamber and heats water in a 125 mL Erlenmeyer flask, and the temperature rise shows the energy given off. The kit includes the flask with plastic ring, metal chamber and lid, cork with pin, and an activity guide for classroom calorimetry lessons.
