Bimetal Strip/Compound Bar, 1 Each

The Bimetal Strip/Compound Bar by United Scientific is a hand-held thermal expansion demonstrator: a bimetallic bar of two bonded alloys fastened to a wooden handle. When heated, the bar bends noticeably because the two alloys expand at different rates, and it straightens as it cools. It measures 9" x 1" x 1" and includes an activity guide. Science teachers use it to explain thermal expansion and bimetallic thermostats.
