The R3001 Zymo-Seq RiboFree Universal cDNA Kit produces first-strand cDNA, and is the easiest rRNA depletion kit available. The RiboFree Universal Depletion is compatible with RNA from all biological sample types, and tissues (including whole blood), and does not require organism-specific probes to deplete rRNA. The RiboFree single-stranded cDNA produced by the kit can be used for qPCR detection, RNA-Seq library prep, and any other downstream analysis. In contrast to poly(A) enrichment methods, the RiboFree Universal cDNA Kit produces single-strand cDNA from nearly all RNA biotypes, including full-length mRNA, mRNA with degraded poly(A) tails, long-noncoding RNA (lncRNA), intronic RNA, nucleolar RNA, etc. The cost-effective Zymo-Seq RiboFree Universal cDNA Kit has been optimized to reduce hands-on time, and the probe-free method eliminates transcriptome profile bias compared to popular rRNA depletion and poly(A) enrichment kits.

Q1: Does this kit yield RNA?
No, the final product is single-stranded cDNA.
Q2: Is this part of a library prep kit?
Yes, this is included in the Zymo-Seq RiboFree Total RNA Library Kit
Q3: What library prep kit is this compatible with?
This is compatible with any library prep method that uses single-stranded DNA as an input.
Q4: Will this kit work with prokaryotes?
Yes, this kit will work with any organism.
Q5: My sample is lower than 100 ng, will this kit still work?
Inputs lower than 100 ng will require a longer incubation time during RiboFree Universal Depletion, and may show reduced rRNA depletion efficiency. Please refer to Appendix B for suggestions.
